Congressman Lee Yong prevents the ‘second Heungkuk Life Incident’… Legislative Initiative
People’s Power Rep. Lee Yong promotes measures to prevent excessive hardening of directors and coaches of professional sports teams such as professional volleyball.
On the 6th, Congressman Lee Yong, who recently declared a run for the supreme council of the People’s Power National Convention, made a representative proposal for the’Partial Amendment to the Sports Industry Promotion Act’.
The bill expands the subject of protection by adding directors and coaches to the existing rules for protecting the rights and interests of players, and stipulates that government authorities prepare standard contracts for professional sports leaders.
This is to protect the authority of professional sports coaches, such as player appointment and game management, and to prevent clubs from interfering with their rights.
Under the current law, professional sports teams use standard contracts in the contract process between sports teams and players to protect the rights and interests of players, but there are no regulations on guaranteeing rights and interests for coaches and other leaders, so it is pointed out that this situation was caused.
According to the data submitted to Congressman Lee Yong, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said, “The standard contract for professional sports teams is to protect the rights and interests of players, and the standard contract system for coaches and coaches is not being implemented.” We will review it and try to ensure that the leader’s rights are not violated.” 안전놀이터
In January, while former coach Kwon Soon-chan of the women’s professional volleyball Heungkuk Life Volleyball Team was sacked during the season after eight months in office, coach Kwon “intervened in the club’s player management to appoint young players,” and a problem arose.
Heungkuk Life Insurance players such as Kim Yeon-kyung even made a statement at the time, saying, “It is true that there was a story about the appointment of players, etc., and it is surprising that there is a team like Heungkuk Life Insurance.”
Women’s volleyball fans formed their own organization called ‘Women’s Volleyball Happiness Group’ to collect their own money and strongly protested the hardship of Heungkuk Life Insurance’s director on the 6th of last month with a ‘truck demonstration’ at the headquarters of Heungkuk Life Insurance and the headquarters of parent company Taekwang Group.
