‘Crazy Kim!’ 13th straight multi-hit game…SD pulls off thrilling upset with 7-run eighth inning of promise

Ha-Sung Kim (San Diego Padres) reached base in 13 consecutive games. He helped his team come from behind to win.

Kim went 1-for-4 with a double, one walk, one strikeout and one run scored as the Padres batted first and second, respectively, against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Petco Park in San Diego, California, USA, on June 6 (ET). Choi went 1-for-1 with a walk and a strikeout in the No. 7 spot.

San Diego’s lineup was Ha-Sung Kim (second base), Fernando Tatis Jr. (right field), Juan Soto (left field), Manny Machado (third base), Zander Bogaerts (shortstop), Jake Cronenweth (first base), Ji-Man Choi (designated hitter), Gary Sanchez (catcher), and Trent Grisham (center field). The starting pitcher was Blake Snell.

Michael Grove started for the Dodgers and the lineup was Mookie Betts (right field), Freddie Freeman (first base), Will Smith (catcher), J.D. Martinez (designated hitter), Ahmed Rosario (second base), Chris Taylor (third base), James Outman (center field), Kike Hernandez (left field), and Miguel Rojas (shortstop).

The Dodgers struck first in the first inning. With the bases loaded, Smith hit a double over the left field fence. After an eight-pitch at-bat, he took Snell’s 88.1 mph (141 km/h) slider for a home run. It was his 14th home run of the season.

In the bottom of the first, Kim struck out swinging on a low 86 mph (138 km/h) slider from Grove with a 1B2S count. Tatis and Soto followed with strikeouts.

In the top of the second, the Dodgers took the lead. Taylor scored on a wild pitch. Taylor led off with a walk and then stole second. The outman grounded out, and with runners on first and second, Taylor stole third base. She then scored on a sacrifice fly by Hernandez.

Choi singled to lead off the bottom of the second. With the bases loaded, Bogaerts singled. The Dodgers then removed opener Grove and sent Ryan Yarbrough to the mound. Yarbrough struck out Cronenwirth and then faced Choi Ji-Man. Choi swung and missed on Yarbrough’s 89.1 mph (143 km/h) sinker at 1B2S and was retired.바카라사이트

Kim Ha-seong stepped to the plate for the second time in the third inning with the bases loaded. He took Yarbrough’s 86.7 mph (139 km/h) sinker for a single up the middle. It was his 11th straight hit. But it didn’t lead to a run, as Tatis flied out to center field.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, San Diego began to pull away. Machado came to the plate with the bases loaded and one out. Yarbrough’s three-pitch changeup was in the zone and Machado took it over the wall in left-center field.

But the Dodgers answered in the top of the fifth. With the bases loaded, Betts singled down the left field line, stole second and advanced to third on Soto’s throwing error. One hit, one error. The Dodgers loaded the bases and scored on Freeman’s RBI single.

Choi was replaced by Garrett Cooper for his second at-bat in the bottom of the fifth.
