Jung Hee-Won, a fresh start at Bundang Samsung, “The passion of the children is amazing”
Jeong Hee-won, who put down her uniform, is now with the youth.
Assist For You (Assist For Youth) project, which is underway for the development of youth basketball in Korea from 2022. Bundang Samsung Basketball Class, which has been with us since the launch of this project, recently welcomed a new member.
The main character is Jeong Hee-won, who announced his retirement from active duty at Samsung in Seoul at the end of January 1st. Jeong Hee-won, who joined Busan KT (currently Suwon KT) in the 2nd round 5th in the 2016 KBL Domestic New Player Draft, later went through Wonju DB and Seoul Samsung and put down the uniform during the 2022-2023 season.
At the time of his retirement, Jeong Hee-won said on his SNS, “I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the many people who have supported and cared for me until now. I have been living as a player with the goal of doing my best at every moment so that there will be no loss. I am grateful to the Samsung club for understanding and caring about my sudden decision.”
The reason for Jung Hee-won’s retirement was that it was difficult to digest normal training due to a chronic injury. Having announced his retirement at a rather early age, he could have taken a break, but quickly moved to youth basketball to continue his relationship with basketball.
Jung Hee-won, who joined the Bundang Samsung basketball class as an instructor from mid-January, said, “I was looking for a place to exercise to maintain my physical condition when I was a social worker, and I got to know Director Keum Jeong-hwan. Through the relationship I formed then, the director heard the news of my retirement. He contacted me,” he said. 카지노사이트
Even at the time of living as a professional basketball player, youth coaching was not part of Jeong Hee-won’s future plan. In a precious opportunity that came by chance, Jeong Hee-won said, “I thought teaching someone was not easy given my personality, but once I joined the basketball class, I was very surprised by the enthusiasm and will of the children. I thought I wanted to give it,” he said, expressing his feeling of encountering youth basketball.
Quickly choosing a new path, he is diligently accumulating experience points, such as participating in a youth tournament held in Mungyeong, Gyeongsangbuk-do at the end of January with Bundang Samsung youth.
Jung Hee-won, who is growing as a youth leader by increasing class hours, said, “I don’t know yet whether my children will become elite players or play basketball as a hobby, but most of all, I want them to have fun playing basketball wherever they go.”
Lastly, he said, “It’s not long since I started, so I haven’t set a clear goal as a leader. However, I want to focus only on the children I’m with right now. I’ll work hard to see what I can do for them.” He expressed his determination.
