FC Seoul head coach Ahn Iksu supports Kim Joo-sung, who received his first call-up to the national team in June’s A match.
FC Seoul will host Incheon United at the Incheon Football Stadium on July 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the 17th round of the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 ‘Gyeongin Derby’.
Seoul is currently in fourth place (8 wins, 3 draws, 5 losses, 27 points) after a 0-1 defeat in Daegu in the previous round. Incheon are 10th (4W, 6D, 6L, 18P) after a 3-1 win away to Daejeon in the previous round, but can leapfrog Suwon FC into ninth place with a win today.
Seoul head coach Ahn Ik-soo spoke to the media before the match and said, “As much as it was disappointing (to lose to Daejeon), we will try not to allow another disappointment.”
“We have good memories, but sometimes you get the results you want in a round and sometimes you don’t,” said Ahn, who won the season opener against Incheon. “We need to come back with a quick recovery and tie it up with a good result.”
“That’s also important, but we always want to show our fans good soccer, and within that, we can bring content and results to make them happy, and I think that’s the process right now,” Ahn said.
He continued, “Of course, goals are necessary, but more importantly, we need to make our own content more fulfilling and bring results. That’s what we need to work on and that’s what we need to play for.”
Regarding Go Yo-han and Kim Kyung-min, who recently returned from injury, he said, “There are expectations in practice matches, but the game can be different. They have a lot of experience and we’ve seen some good things from them in practice. I think we will see those things in the match as well.”
When asked how satisfied he was with his team’s performance so far, halfway through the 33-game regular season, Ahn said, “Satisfaction is not the right word. There are always a lot of variables, and we’re trying to maintain our style and develop within that. We are in the middle of that process to give our fans a good feeling of happiness.”
“In the winter, I once asked the players to discuss our goals. The players’ answer was to show the fans good football first, and then Final A plus alpha. We are in that process now. If we can develop further and tie it up with a good story, there is nothing better than that.”
Kim Joo-sung will wear the captain’s armband for the first time. “You’re talking about the national team, right?” asked Ahn, who was called up by coach Jürgen Klinsmann for his first cap ahead of the A-side match in June.
“During the winter training in Thailand, Joo-sung told me to think about why I’m here,” Ahn said. “I hope my last dream is the A team, I hope that’s the goal.”메이저사이트
“It’s important to stick to the process and prepare to produce another plan for the goal, and it’s become a reality,” he said, adding, “The time he spends on soccer is much more than other players. My hope is that even if (Kim) Min-jae or (Kim) Young-kwon comes in, that spot will be occupied by Ju-sung’s ability, and it will be an opportunity to try harder to have that time and improve.”
