Kiwoom, the reason for choosing the ‘club’s first’ compensation player instead of FA compensation

Kiwoom nominated Lee Kang-joon (22) as a free agent compensation player for Han Hyun-hee (30), who transferred to Lotte.

After graduating from Seorak High School, Lee Kang-joon, who started his professional life after being nominated for the 2nd and 3rd round by KT in 2020, transferred to Lotte in July 2021 through a 2-1 trade.

Lee Kang-jun, a sidearm pitcher with a height of 180 cm and a weight of 80 kg, pitched in 32 games in the first team and recorded an average ERA of 9.51 with 1 win and 1 hold. He took the mound 13 times last year and won 1 hold. His earned run average was 10.24.

He appeared in 76 career games for the Futures, where he went 5-4 with 3 saves and 11 holds with a 4.40 earned run average. Last year, the Futures record was 2 wins, 3 losses, 1 save and 2 holds (average ERA of 3.64).

In the meantime, Kiwoom chose additional compensation instead of the free agent compensation player, but this time he received the player.

Lotte has already sent away Kim Yoo-young and Ahn Joong-yeol as FA compensation players. Lefty Kim Yoo-yeong was nominated as Yoo Kang-nam’s FA compensation player and was taken by LG, and catcher Ahn Joong-yeol was transferred to NC as Noh Jin-hyuk’s compensation player.

General Manager Ko Hyeong-wook said ahead of the nomination of free agency compensation players, “Two players were nominated as free agency compensation players before us, but I think there are still good players left.”  온라인바카라

Kiwoom nominated Lee Kang-jun for the sidearm without the slightest hesitation. Potential for future growth was highly evaluated.

Head coach Ko Hyeong-wook said, “He is a player who does not have much experience, but he has great power at the end of the ball and excellent movement. He highly evaluated the potential for future growth and made the choice without hesitation.”
