‘Longest home run I’ve ever hit’ Adel cannons 156.7m in Triple-A

A home run of epic proportions has been hit in the minor leagues. Joe Adel (24, Los Angeles Angels) hit a 514-foot (156.7 meters) home run in a Triple-A game.

MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, reported the same day that Adel hit a home run with a bat speed of 113.6 mph (182.8 km/h) and a distance of 514 feet.

Adele was playing for the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim that day against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys of the Houston Astros.

Trailing 11-8 with two outs and runners on first and second in the eighth inning, Adel took a wild pitch from Austin Hansen and pulled it over the left field fence for a three-run shot.

It was the longest home run in both the minors and majors this season. It is also the longest home run since Statcast began tracking home runs.

The previous longest home run on Statcast was 505 feet by Norma Mazara. That home run came at Globe Life Field in June 2019.

Adel is a Utuuta outfield prospect who was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 10th round of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft. He made his major league debut in the 2020 season.

However, in four seasons in the majors, he hasn’t lived up to expectations, batting .215 with a .261 OPS and .623 slugging percentage in 162 games.

As a result, Adel is currently in Triple-A with a minor league option. His numbers at Triple-A are good. In 61 games, he has 20 home runs and a 0.960 OPS.토스카지노

Meanwhile, the longest home run in the pre-statcast era is 565 feet (172 meters), hit by Mickey Mantle in 1953.
