‘Messi, I’ll see you there’ Busquets to Miami…’A reunion of Barça legends’

Sergio Busquets, 34, is joining Inter Miami of the U.S. Major League Soccer (MLS).

“Busquets will accompany Lionel Messi,” Spain’s Cádena Ser reported on Monday (Aug. 8). He will sign for Miami and the announcement will be made in the next 48 hours.”

Busquets is a Barcelona “one-club man. He joined Barcelona’s youth ranks in 2005 and made his first-team debut after developing his skills. He was Pep Guardiola’s first choice. Busquets has been a revelation since his debut. He formed a midfield combination with Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta that allowed Guardiola to implement his “tiki-taka” tactics.

It was a midfield control tower. He dropped between the center backs to allow the fullbacks to get upfield and led the buildup from the back, showing his ability to pass accurately. His breakaway and transition passes were also good, earning him the absolute trust of Guardiola. With Busquets filling the final piece of the defensive midfield puzzle, Barcelona entered one of the greatest golden eras in the club’s history.

Busquets was at the center of Barcelona’s trophy haul in La Liga, the UEFA Champions League, UCL, and other competitions. He continued to excel with the Spanish national team. Busquets earned 143 caps for his country, winning titles at UEFA Euro and the FIFA World Cup.

Busquets last signed a new contract in September 2018. It expires on June 30, 2023. In fact, Barcelona wanted to extend it for another year, but Busquets decided it was the right time to leave. According to Marca, “Busquets has suffered a lot over the last few years, watching the team’s struggles and having to deal with the criticism of the fans. With Barcelona on the verge of winning La Liga this season, he saw it as the perfect time to leave.”

And then there was the final gift. They won La Liga in 2022-23, regaining the trophy after a four-year absence. “The foundations of a championship team have been laid,” said Busquets, who was able to go out in style. It’s very difficult to win a title. I wanted to leave with an important title like La Liga,” Busquets said.안전놀이터

“I’m very happy to leave in this way. I’ve spent a lot of time at Barcelona, with a lot of records and titles. I’m happy to leave like this. See you later,” he added.

According to Spain’s Relevo, Busquets received a “mega offer” from Saudi Arabia. Al-Hilal reportedly made an attractive offer. But Busquets didn’t head to the Middle East, instead opting to wear the Miami jersey that Messi ended up wearing.

The two Barcelona legends will be reunited in Miami.
