SSG’s new foreign pitcher, Romero, warms up with his first bullpen pitching… Coach Woong-Chun Cho “Excellent throwing sense”
SSG Landers’ new foreign pitcher Eni Romero (32) had his first bullpen pitching.
Romero threw his first bullpen pitch during the team’s spring training at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Florida, on the 8th (Korean time). With 30 pitches, he checked his physical condition by making use of five pitches, including a fastball, two-seam fastball, slider, curveball, and changeup.
Romero said, “Today (8th) focused on learning the pitching feeling on the mound.” When I experienced the official KBO league ball, it felt similar to the ball used in the minor leagues. It felt smaller than the official Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) ball.” 온라인카지노
SSG pitching coach Jo Ung-cheon said, “I haven’t pitched with all my strength yet. However, both the fastball and the breaking ball felt good in terms of power and movement. The pitch was particularly stable. He also seems to have a good sense of throwing the ball. I am looking forward to pitching in the future.”
SSG signed a contract with Romero in December of last year for up to $1 million (annual salary of 800,000, option of 200,000). After joining the Tampa Bay Rays in the major leagues in 2008, Romero went through the Washington Nationals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Kansas City Royals, recording 4 wins and 6 losses and an ERA of 5.12 in 137 games. He later played for NPB Chunichi Dragons in 2019 and Chiba Lotte Marines in 2021. SSG was attracted to Romero’s ability to throw a fastball of over 150km per hour in physical conditions of 190cm tall and 105kg in weight.
“I like offensive pitching,” Romero said. It is my strength to deal with batters aggressively and make them feel burdened,” he said. I heard a lot about Korea because I was close with Ivan Nova, who played at SSG last year.” The goal is to finish the season healthy without missing this season. I will prepare well so that I can demonstrate my skills 100%.”
