‘This is how business is done’…Man City “Kancelu good? Let’s swap him for Kimmich.”

Manchester City are planning to swap a player who has been left out of their plans for one of Europe’s best midfielders.

“City have expressed interest in signing Joshua Kimmich,” British media outlet ’90min’ reported on July 27 (KST).

A key midfielder for Bayern Munich, Kimmich has been one of the Bundesliga’s best midfielders since moving to Munich in 2015. He has played as a right-back in the past, but since joining the Bavarians, he has fully established himself as a defensive midfielder.

Kimmich has recently been linked with a new challenge in the summer transfer window, with some of Europe’s top clubs showing interest. Barcelona have already identified Kimmich as a target, while Man City have also been linked with the player, making the summer transfer window a fierce one.

According to 90min, “Man City are interested in signing Kimmich. Kimmich is considering his future in Munich and European clubs are aware that he is looking for a new challenge. Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan could leave the club this summer, and City, in need of midfield reinforcements, have set their sights on Kimmich, according to the report.

“City believe Kimmich will be able to slot seamlessly into their midfield as he has already worked under Pep Guardiola before,” the source added.

The outlet emphasized that City could utilize Joao Cancelo, who is on loan at Munich, to sign Kimmich.

Once City’s undisputed first-choice fullback, Kancelu’s form has dipped since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and he has been pushed out of the starting lineup. His lack of playing time behind the likes of Rico Luiz and Nathan Ake led to direct complaints to Guardiola, and his move to Munich in the winter transfer window paved the way for a turnaround.안전놀이터

Since joining the Bavarians, Kancelu has been a solid performer with one goal and four assists in 14 appearances, and has found himself back in the starting lineup, especially since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel.

“Kancelu has started more games since Tuchel’s arrival and Tuchel wants to keep him in Munich,” 90min reports, noting that Kimmich and Kancelu could swap places if Tuchel and Guardiola get their way.

The potential departure of Kimmich, one of the best midfielders in Europe, would give City the best possible squad for next season. The move to a key player in the center of the midfield will not only improve City’s performance, but also their transfer market strategy.
