World No. 44 Ferreira is expected to leave PGA to join LIV golf

Mito Pereira (Chile), 44th in the men’s golf world ranking, leaves the US Professional Golf (PGA) tour this year and joins the LIV Golf Invitational Series (hereafter referred to as LIV Golf).

On the 12th (Korean time), the American golf media Golf Week quoted a report by the Telegraph and reported that Pereira from Chile will transfer to LIV Golf in 2023 and join compatriot Joaquin Nieman.

Founded in June of last year with the support of the Sauri Arabian sovereign wealth fund, LIV Golf is attracting a large number of PGA stars with its enormous financial power. Former world No. 1 Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka (USA), and last year’s Open Champion Cameron Smith (Australia) joined LIV Golf last year.

LIV Golf, which played eight tournaments last year, did not disclose the schedule for 2023, but plans to play at least 12 tournaments. 스포츠토토

The 27-year-old Ferreira made his professional debut in 2015 and competed in three PGA Tour events in the 2022-2023 season. A tie for 4th at the Shriners Children’s Open held in October last year was his best result this season, and he won the Puerto Rico Open once in 2016. It is currently ranked 44th in the world.
